Deep Web
This week on 3Amoviegos Ian, Martyn & Joe ride side-saddle with special guest @Jenniferwillcut and discuss the concepts of Alex Winter’s Deep Web, moreso than the film itself.
Deep Web is the story of Silk Road and the trials of Ross Ulbricht, creator and one of the administrators of Silk Road operating under the shared pseudonym, Dread Pirate Roberts. Winter explores the vast section of the World Wide Web that extends far beyond the confines of entities like Google, Facebook and even the Banking System.
From the first appearances of Silk Road, to the waves it created for the problematic and failing “War on Drugs,” and revealing the blatant corruption and injustice that goes on daily in pursuit of an archaic crusade that has fostered more violence and corruption than the acts it was designed to combat. Deep Web is a film that everyone should see to understand certain elements of privacy, how it’s being subverted by the watchdogs of governing bodies everywhere, and how Keanu Reeves can narrate the hell out of a movie.
All this and much more on this week’s 3Amoviegos.
